Left Hand Side, IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH daughter EVAN and MARY REES Wherein died January 1st 1866, at 4 years of age ALSO MARGARET JANE their daughter who died December 15th 1866at 14 months old ALSO MARGARET their daughter who died November 23rd 1878at 3 years old. ALSO MARY mother of the above, and wife of EVAN REES who died while living in BIRKENHEAD Dec 30th 1885 at 47 years old. “She did what she could” Mark 14, 3Right Hand StoneIN MEMORY OF HUGH son of EDWARD and ELIZABETH REES. Who died November 14th 1853, aged 7 months old. ALSO DAVID their son who had died March 12th 1856 Aged 5 years ALSO SUSANNAH daughter who has died Nov 27th 1865, aged 10 year old ALSO ELIZABETH Mother who died in the year of the Lord, May 23rd 1876 Age 64 “She did what she could” ALSO EDWARD REES husband of the above who died November 1884 At 70 years old. Anybody that last to the end, he is blessed/sacred. This is a very rough translation, as it is written in an “old” Welsh text. We believe they are biblical passages. The bottom quote is very badly eroded – possibly from Joshua?

The original settlement was in the village of Heaton which is two miles from the chapel on the hill.
Last surviving direct descendent a spinster was living in Heaton until her death there in the 1970's
